RANCHO GRANDE
It all started when this newspaper landed on my table on 2002. The news of dying children there, were very poor and needy communities that urgently needed help. That was the beginning of the Feeding Centers. Inside my heart a flame was ignited. God gave me a fearless heart. Full of faith, endurance and resilient perseverance to do all that I could because He said He would do the impossible.
We were faced with huge challenges on how to bring a long lasting change. The only way was by educating the older kids to become self sustainable. To learn how to grow food. Bringing an education for a sustainable development. Bring a change to the way of thinking and make them productive. To use their hands and work. Sustainable Development starts with an education. When you educate the mothers the children eat better.
It is important to educate from childhood to form their Christian values, character, habits, instill in them the value of "if you do not work you do not eat". Teach them to fish and not just give the fish.
When the medical teams left I was faced with "what now", how would I answer the need of so many children without the medical attention they needed.
So the Clinic opened its doors in 2003 in Managua. But now the new building is in Rancho Grande. Its doors will be open to give pediatric care by giving regular medical check up to ensure the child is growing healthy and strong.
We have prayed and will continue to pray, to be the feet and hands of Jesus as we reach out to make a difference "one child at a time" loving, caring, and doing all we can to help the sick and hurting.
When have you seen Jesus hungry, thirsty, sick, lonely or without clothes?
We had to be moved with compassion and feed the hungry. We had to go the distance. There has been plenty of sweat, tears, walking to houses on muddy trails, crossed many deep rivers with fear. But at the other side there are loud cries of victories that our God is giving us. To Him be the glory and honor. WE SERVE AN AWESOME AND LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER!
